Packet state and filling temperature come first

Frozen-food rows cover very different products, from loose vegetables to raw meat fillings. Use the packet's cook-from-frozen instruction where available. For pies, pasties, spring rolls and similar foods, test the centre rather than relying on a crisp outside.

What to check

  • Do not air fry a product the packet says must be defrosted first.
  • Keep fan and conventional packet instructions as separate pairs.
  • Use the relevant numeric centre check for meat and fish products.

FAQ

Quick answers

Should I preheat?

Preheating can help with short cooks and crisp foods, but follow your model manual when it gives specific advice.

Why do foods have ranges?

Ranges are more honest than one fixed number because portion size and basket crowding matter.

What should I do with meat or leftovers?

Check the centre and use a thermometer where possible. Browning outside is not enough.
